Here are a few tips to keep your projector running the most efficiently.

Do..

  1. Allow plenty of room around the unit for airflow.
  2. Shut the projector off if you will not be using it within 15-‐30 minutes of thenext activity.
  3. Use the A/V Mute button if you do not want the projector shown up on the screen, but will be using it shortly.
  4. For Epson projectors, locate the warranty card (looks like a credit card) that came with the unit. The Computer Support Specialist will need this to call the manufacturer if your projector has a problem.
  5. Shut the lens cover over the weekend, over breaks, and summer.

Don't..

  1. Switch lamp on/off in short cycles (e.g., 5 minutes on, 5 minutes off.)
  2. Bump the projector when it’s operating.
  3. Move the projector during operation.
  4. Allow the projector to become overheated.
  5. Set anything on top of a projector or cover a projector while in use.
  6. Shut the lens cover while the projector is on. (Except Epson projectors when the lens cover is labeled A/V Mute: in this case, use as A/V Mute button.)
